Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting the manufacturing organization in their pursuit of operationally excellent processes. This includes the manufacturing processes, employees, and equipment.
Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures for manufacturing
- Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for improvements in quality, cost reduction, and throughput
- Collaborate with design engineering on product design and tooling to ensure effectual product methods
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluate products according to quality standards and specifications.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, and shop orders.
- Create and maintain MoM (Method of Manufacturing) and BoM (Bill of Materials) in ERP system.
- Establish, maintain, & improve job costs thru use of continuous improvement tools and concepts
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, such as GMAW welding, lasers, press brakes, CNC, etc.
- Manage and implement major new processes or improvements.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Acute attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge and understanding of Standard Costing principles
- Knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP business software (Epicor knowledge is a plus)
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering degree or Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing equivalent field from an accredited college (preferred) or minimum of 5 years of job experience.
- Experience in manufacturing or machining is preferred
