Description
The Scale Operator plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring smooth and accurate operation of the scale. This position also supports facility operations and maintenance, promotes teamwork, and upholds company safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Greet customers in a courteous, professional manner and provide excellent service at all times.
- Accurately operate the scale, probe grain, and collect samples.
- Process customer payments and enter sales tickets into the system.
- Assist with loading customer vehicles as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries, questions, and concerns promptly and respectfully.
- Support problem resolution for customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility to ensure safety and compliance with standards.
- Assist with painting, cleaning, and general facility maintenance.
- Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, employees, and management.
- Promote employee teamwork and cohesiveness through positive communication and collaboration.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, codes, and regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working a variable schedule, including different shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended hours as needed.
- Exhibit regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the branch and company.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills required.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
- Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders (20’–180’), lift up to 50 lbs. (occasionally 100+ lbs.), and work with hands/arms. Must maintain vision, balance, and dexterity necessary for safe job performance.
- Work Environment: Exposure to weather extremes, mechanical equipment, dust, fumes, chemicals, loud noise, and elevated work areas. Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
