Position Summary:
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for the execution of the facility’s preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for the entire plant facility and equipment with minimal unscheduled downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform maintenance, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
- Machines, while keeping a strong focus on safety and housekeeping. The job is not finished until cleanup is done.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of the machine
- Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance
- Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment parts, components, and accessories
- Assist other maintenance employees with repairs and housekeeping as needed
- Support electrical maintenance as needed
- Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience Required:
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution and one of the following:
- Two-year associate degree or higher in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.)
- Completed apprenticeship in mechanics, mechanical maintenance, or electro-mechanical, electrical, or related field
- Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls, and automation, or related role
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Previous experience reading blueprints and schematics
- Previous experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Previous experience with power transmission components: belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
- Previous experience with drill presses, & lathes
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts

- Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, walk, and reach above shoulders for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, and perform fine manipulation for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per shift
- Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
- Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken words, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
