General Purpose:
Events Server/Bartender perform serving duties at various events throughout the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort and Hotel Effie.
Essential Duties:
• Setting banquet tables with proper utensils.
• Folding napkins.
• Making sure room/area is neat and orderly to banquet standards.
• Setting up buffet lines.
• Picking up and serving food from the kitchen.
• Attain proper knowledge of menus and service methods (Reference Banquet Serving Standards).
• Serve promptly and efficiently. Keep table free of items not used.
• Clearing table during each course and carry tray back to kitchen / service area to buss.
• Break Down Functions:
• Break down tables / buffet lines and return all equipment to proper areas.
Education:
High school or GED required
Basic Required Skills:
• Must be available “on-call”
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel or resort environmental systems.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5+ hours in length.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. if needed.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
