About the Role: North East - NJ Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations with a specialized focus on the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous substances, maintaining a secure and efficient environment for employees and inventory. The manager leads a team to optimize warehouse workflows, inventory accuracy, and timely order fulfillment while prioritizing safety protocols. They collaborate closely with logistics, safety team, and regulatory agencies to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding company assets, personnel, and the environment by managing hazardous materials with the highest standards of care and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing warehouse operations, including at least 1 year specifically handling hazardous materials.

  • Certification in hazardous materials handling and safety (e.g., OSHA HAZWOPER, DOT Hazmat Certification).

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing hazardous materials (OSHA, DOT, EPA).

  • Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and training warehouse personnel.

  • Strong qualifications in understanding and managing financial reports, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and shipping of goods, with a focus on hazardous materials compliance.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures and protocols specific to hazardous materials handling and storage.

  • Train and supervise warehouse staff on proper hazmat handling, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.

  • Coordinate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure safe and compliant movement of hazardous goods.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation related to hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify risks and ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other relevant regulations.

  • Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies involving hazardous materials, leading containment and mitigation efforts.

  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and ensure timely reporting of any compliance issues.

  • Optimize warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency while maintaining strict safety standards.

  • Prepare reports on warehouse performance, safety metrics, and compliance status for senior management.

  • Oversee warehouse financial performance including expense tracking, forecasting, and budget management.

  • Prepare and present financial reports and cost analyses to senior management, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
