Description
The Pharmalink Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for the proper receiving and shipping of all product within our facility along with proper documentation and record keeping. This position will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to make sure all inbound packages are received properly and all outbound product is properly shipped and tracked within company policy. Works with compliance department for proper storage and disposal of waste so that all inbound / outbound is organized within our facility. Works with Authorizations to make sure all returned product is done with company guidelines.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Coordinate the daily inbound receiving to make sure all packages are received and all discrepancy reports are accurate and complete.
- Coordinate the storage process and make sure all received packages are scanned into zone locations
- Coordinate the flow of outbound product daily for all types of shipping class and verify proper shipping and tracking is done.
- Work with Warehouse Manager to Implement KPI for all inbound receiving and outbound shipping.
- Supervise and Lead Team: Recruit, train, mentor, coach and evaluate a team of shipping and receiving material handlers.
- Schedule shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
- Departmental Payroll Management: Oversee departmental payroll, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked, leave, and overtime. Collaborate with HR to resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Warehouse Organization & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Work with HR and department Lead(s) to make sure all proper training and documentation is followed within company guidelines.
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Assist Shipping, Receiving and FD Leads to ensure and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Assist Authorizations to maintain FIFO compliance for all outbound shipments, and actively manage floor space to ensure a safe work environment.
- Select appropriate shipping methods and carriers to meet delivery deadlines and cost targets. Prepare shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, customs forms).
- Coordinate inbound and outbound pallet preparation.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the accurate receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of all incoming and outgoing goods. Assist with physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Automation Integration: Actively participate in the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of new warehouse automation technologies, such as: warehouse management systems (WMS), and intelligent sortation systems.
- Process Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve existing shipping and receiving processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy, leveraging data and technology.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize data sources to generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, accuracy rates, labor utilization, and turnaround times. Use data to identify trends and drive informed decision-making.
- Assist with Turret Truck use and maintenance along with forklift and electric /non electric pallet jacks.
- Champion the company policies and values at all times
- Fill in for Warehouse Manager duties when offsite or on PTO
- Perform any and all other task assigned by Warehouse Manager
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-4 Years of Shipping / Receiving experience in a pharmaceutical, distribution or packaging manufacturing facility is required
- Experience working with multiple shipping carriers for ground and freight shipments.
- Experience working with warehousing equipment like pallet jack, forklift, turret truck, cherry picker, etc.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and written.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi task
- Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals from multiple departments within the organization.
- Great attitude and desire to always work for the same common company goal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach and bend for up to 8 hours a day, with breaks.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Assistance is available upon request for lifting packages that exceed 40 lbs. or that are in unstable condition.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A formal education such as a Bachelor Degree in science, business or other related field is preferred but not required.
- A two-year Technical or Associate Degree is preferred but not required.
