We are on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Hotel Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will assist us in evaluating and overseeing the financial and operational controls of your assigned properties. Please note: This position requires 100% on-site presence at our new property support office located in Grand Rapids, MI. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm


JOB SUMMARYResponsible for analyzing the financial and operational controls of assigned hotels.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Process all accounts payable for the hotels
  • Analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure financial information is available and accurate
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Maintain statistical and financial records
  • Compare actual performance to planned performance, identify variances and initiate corrective action
  • Monitor and audit procedures for control of supplies, moneys, and credit
  • Monitor Inventory Controls
  • Review and monitor all Accounts Receivables, House Accounts, and Advance Deposit accounts
  • Monitor policies and procedures established by Lodgco Management, LLC
  • Analysis of actual and historical ADR, Occupancy, REVPar
  • Stay up to date on Brand standards
  • Assist in the compilation and preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Utilize all reporting and analysis tools available through Brand Software
  • Use Tax/CVB Tax

COMPETENCIES:

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality/finance 


ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Valid driver’s license and safe driving record – satisfactory criminal background screening required – professional references


SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITY

This position does not manage any staff members.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
