Knife River is looking to add an Asphalt Technical Manager to our team!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Works for Asphalt GM
- Manages quality for all plants under GM
- Works closely with plant maintenance
- Works closely with Aggregates
- Works closely with Construction lay down
- Works closely with QC department
- Helps ensure accountability exists
- Takes the lead on complex spec reviews
- Takes lead in asphalt mix design submittals
- Trains asphalt sales
- Assists Construction group
- Owns mix designs
- Leads in asphalt mix design development
- Works closely with QC and provides direction
- Reviews mix design progress through stages and directs QC on next steps
iii. QC techs do the actual testing, TMS interprets and makes decisions
- As always, there would be good communication and collaboration between departments
- Reviews daily asphalt test results
- Adjusts plant settings as needed
- QC department can assist with this as needed
- Recommend JMF adjustments as needed
- Provide technical expertise to internal customers
- Provide technical expertise to external customers
- Trains asphalt sales, Construction estimators, and Construction laydown to do the same
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certifications: ODOT CAT I, CAT II and ODOT CMDT or have the ability to obtain these certifications.
- Several years of customer service experience in this field or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to explain complex solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Project management and leadership skills.
