American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations in our Douglassville, PA facility. This shop leadership role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly who thrives on teamwork, problem-solving, and delivering quality results on schedule.

What You’ll Do
- Supervise and lead shop employees, including interviewing, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Promote and enforce safety and OSHA compliance across daily operations.
- Plan and schedule workloads, delegating tasks based on skill levels and project priorities.
- Maintain production schedules, reporting progress to the Plant Manager.
- Oversee fabrication to meet drawing specifications and workmanship standards.
- Manage mechanical maintenance, steel inventory, and company tools.
- Ensure all outgoing equipment is prepared, protected, and ready for shipment.
- Provide consultation and expertise to management on manufacturing operations.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma required.
- Completion of accredited apprenticeship/vocational training or 5–10 years of on-the-job training.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in steel fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Proven supervisory/foreman-level experience managing shop teams.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities to plan, delegate, and execute shop work.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cranes, heavy equipment, or large-scale industrial fabrication.
- Budgeting and resource allocation experience for shop operations.
- OSHA or safety certifications.

Work Environment
This position is fully on-site at our Douglassville, PA headquarters. Work involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, confined space entry, and operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and cranes.
