This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role in which you will manage and optimize Sprout's quality control program while designing and improving the operational systems that underpin our physical operations. Working closely with the Director of Operations and leveraging Sprout’s proprietary ERP system, you will have the unique opportunity to shape operational effectiveness, interface with the in-house development team, and drive initiatives that ensure Sprout remains a leader in IT asset disposition and electronics recycling. This role also involves cross-functional collaboration to address mission-critical challenges, improve process efficiency, and uphold the highest quality standards through meticulous system and process design.

Responsibilities:
  1. System Design and Operational Control
  • Enhance operational controls across material flows, SOW constraints, location and inventory management, product SKUing, and other critical areas to support scalable growth.
  • Collaborate with the internal technology development team to align ERP system capabilities with operational needs and industry best practices.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline operational processes and improve visibility across workflows.
  1. Quality Control Management
  • Oversee and continuously improve Sprout’s quality control program, utilizing sampling and testing protocols to validate product outcomes.
  • Define and track quality metrics, leveraging data analytics to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain standardized work instructions, ensuring consistent adherence to operational and quality standards across facilities.
  1. Process Optimization and Improvement
  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing operational flow, reducing inefficiencies, and solving critical business challenges.
  • Use 5S, Lean and Kaizen methodologies to improve process quality and reduce waste.
  • Develop and implement best practices for launching new processes and optimizing existing ones to increase effectiveness and output quality.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between Sales and Operations to ensure customer requirements and special processing notes are accurately captured and executed.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Operations, Sales, and Technology to identify and resolve gaps in operational workflows.
  • Provide actionable insights through advanced data analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making.
  1. Strategic Leadership and Change Management
  • Drive change management processes, ensuring smooth implementation of new procedures and systems across multiple facilities.
  • Monitor and ensure the alignment of system and process improvements with organizational goals and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Engage with teams across different time zones and facilities, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in meeting diverse operational needs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in driving operational improvements and achieving successful business outcomes in a technology-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects and leading change from an indirect position of authority.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as SQL, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong project management skills, with a history of identifying potential issues and implementing effective contingency plans.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to align technical capabilities with operational objectives.

Working Environment

  • Onsite/Remote Hybrid: 20% remote after onboarding; 80% in-office or warehouse (non-air-conditioned environment as needed).
  • Travel: Up to 20% annual travel for process implementation and cross-facility support.
