Speech-Language Pathologist - Austin, TX

Part-time position $45-$50/hour
 

Job Summary: BCBAs as a part of TAC are responsible for the ethical delivery of speech therapy services to an assigned subset of clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in accordance with all guidelines and ethical standards as stipulated by the American Speech-Language –Hearing Association. This role also includes case management responsibilities documentation, staff training, and interdisciplinary collaboration. 

Position Requirements:

 • Employee must have a master’s degree, an active credentials and maintain good standing with ASHA

 • Employee must have all required state licensure and be in good standing or be eligible to apply for licensure

 • Employee must have a certificate of clinical competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)

 • Employee must have certification or training towards the ADOS-2 or the willingness to obtain certification or training

 • Employee must be credentialed with commercial payers or eligible to do so 

• Employee must demonstrate a strong clinical skillset 

• Employee must be organized, punctual, and able to set and meet goals and deadlines

 • Employee must demonstrate strong communication skills, across all modalities, and must be able to work alongside colleagues of their same discipline, but also others

 • Employee must demonstrate sound judgement, problem-solving, and flexibility

 • Employee must recognize and accommodate cultural differences and diversity

 • Employee must consistently demonstrate behavior in alignment with the organization’s core values 

• Employee must comply with all ethical codes of conduct 

Core Responsibilities:

 • Assess individuals’ communication and language skills using comprehensive assessments

 • Develop individualized treatment plans for clients

 • Provide directly therapy sessions and create documentation supporting the provision of services

 • Regularly and routinely collect data and continuously monitor client progress, to inform treatment planning 

• Collaborate with other clinic-based clinicians to promote meaningful client progress

 • Provide education and support to families of children served to facilitate communication, progress, and generalization of skills outside of the clinic setting 

• Maintains accurate and complete client records 

• Conducts comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Edition

 • Completes all required documentation reflecting service provision, thoroughly and accurately, within the required timelines; Converts all sessions in time reporting platform within 24 hours of completion

 • Accepts supervisory feedback and adjusts behavior and practices accordingly 

Marginal Functions:

• Assumes the responsibility of a mandated reporter concerning incidents of alleged abuse and neglect, as outlined by state guidelines and in accordance with the organization’s policies

 • Performs all other assigned duties as required 

Working Conditions:

 • Work may be performed in a clinic setting Caseload & Productivity Expectations: (Unless otherwise stipulated) Note: Caseload sizes are subject to change with industry trends or organizational needs

 • Manage caseload and evaluation schedule that allows for 80% of weekly time to be reimbursable 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with ASD 

Physical & Basic Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

 • Must be able to lift and carry children and/or adaptive equipment 

• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures for extended periods of time - Examples: Kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, and standing

 • Must be able to sit on the floor for an extended period of time

 • Must be willing and able to make quick body movements

 • Must be able to understand and execute detailed communication about clients

 • Must maintain a professional appearance aligned with the organization’s dress code, but also with hygiene and grooming

 • Must be physically present at clinic site, unless using PTO, benefit time, or with approval from supervisor
