We're looking for a driven Manufacturing Engineer with Optics or Precision Machining Experience to help us scale and strengthen our technical operations.
Position Summary
As an Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll work hands-on with advanced polishing and metrology equipment to develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.
We’re seeking someone with strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a positive, adaptable approach to problem-solving. This role requires a practical, hands-on mindset and a willingness to work in both cleanroom and fluid-exposed manufacturing areas (PPE provided).

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain optics polishing and metrology equipment, ensuring precision and reliability
• Develop, review, and implement detailed process documentation and work instructions
• Monitor processes, analyze data, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues in collaboration with internal teams and with external vendors
• Support training, certification, and technical communication internally and in customer visits
• Maintain compliance with cleanliness, safety, and quality standards across cleanroom and fluid-exposed areas
• Adapt flexibly across functions in a dynamic, growing, manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience
• Experience in manufacturing or process engineering with strong technical communication skills
• Detail-oriented with a proven ability to maintain quality and accuracy
• Comfortable working hands-on with advanced equipment in a dynamic environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative attitude
• Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Desirable Qualifications
• 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with more extensive experience, or equivalent education and specialized knowledge, will also be considered.
• Background or experience in optical science/engineering or optical manufacturing is a strong plus but not required
• Familiarity with interferometers, profilometers, or other optical metrology tools
• Experience with CNC-based polishing, Magnetorheological Finishing (MRF), or related systems
• Comfortable in customer-facing roles and technical presentations
