Lead the development, alignment, and refinement of K-12 curriculum for grades 7-12, ensuring it is rigorous, standards-based, and addresses the diverse needs of students.
Collaborate with the K-12 Executive Director of Teaching and Learning to implement instructional materials and resources that are aligned with district goals, state standards, and best practices in education.
Instructional Leadership & Support:
Provide guidance and coaching to teachers in grades 7-12 to improve instructional practices, foster student engagement, and promote higher-order thinking skills.
Observe classrooms regularly, provide feedback, and model effective teaching strategies. Support teachers in the implementation of instructional frameworks and pedagogy across subject areas. Collaborate with the K-6 Instructional Coordinator.
Professional Development & Training:
Design and lead targeted professional development programs for 7-12 teachers, focusing on effective instructional strategies, differentiation, assessment, and technology integration.
Promote a culture of ongoing learning by providing support and resources for teachers to continuously improve their practice.
Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and collaborative learning opportunities for educators.
Data-Driven Instruction:
Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to analyze student performance data to identify trends, inform instruction, and guide decisions related to curricular adjustments.
Lead efforts to use data to differentiate instruction, monitor student progress, and assess the effectiveness of instructional practices.
Support the creation and use of assessments that align with learning goals and inform instructional practices at the school and district level.
Collaboration with School Leaders:
Work closely with middle and high school principals and other instructional leaders to ensure alignment between school improvement plans and district-wide goals.
Provide support and leadership in the development and implementation of school-level action plans aimed at improving student achievement and closing achievement gaps.
Assist principals in identifying instructional priorities and monitoring progress toward school-wide academic goals.
Curriculum & Instructional Resources Management:
Ensure that all schools in the district have access to the appropriate instructional materials, resources, and technology tools needed to support effective teaching and learning.
Collaborate with the district’s resource team to evaluate, purchase, and manage instructional resources, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of students and support district goals.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of instructional strategies, curricular initiatives, and student performance in grades 7-12.
Provide regular reports on progress toward instructional goals, student achievement, and the impact of professional development efforts.
Lead the process for evaluating and revising instructional practices based on ongoing assessment results and feedback from stakeholders.
Equity & Inclusion:
Ensure that instructional practices and curriculum are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of all students, including English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and underrepresented student populations.
Promote practices that encourage academic success for all students, particularly those who face challenges in accessing high-quality learning opportunities.Family and Community Engagement:
Support the development of partnerships with families and community organizations to enhance the learning experience for students.
Communicate with parents about instructional strategies, curriculum updates, and student progress, helping them support their child’s learning at home.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related area preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in middle and/or high school (grades 7-12).
Prior experience in instructional leadership, curriculum design, or professional development is preferred.
Experience in analyzing student data and using it to inform instructional practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong understanding of instructional best practices, curriculum development, and assessment strategies for grades 7-12.
Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to use data to drive instructional improvements and inform decision-making.
Ability to work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and other district staff to achieve shared goals.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of current trends in education, including technology integration and differentiated instruction.
A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in instructional practices.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to be flexible with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle

Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, machines, etc.
Full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Travel between district schools is required.

Under the supervision of the K-12 Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, the 7-12 Instructional Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional practices for grades 7-12 across the district. This position will collaborate closely with teachers, school leaders, and district administrators to ensure alignment with curriculum standards, promote high-quality teaching practices, and drive continuous improvement in student achievement. The 7-12 Instructional Coordinator will lead efforts to provide professional development, analyze instructional data, and facilitate school-wide initiatives to enhance educational outcomes for all students.
