Track and Field Assistant Coach - Talent Middle School

REPORTS TO: TMS Athletic Director/Building Principal
SALARY: As determined by negotiated salary schedule and current memorandums of understanding with the collective bargaining unit.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Serve as assistant coach for Track and Field team. Support head coach during practices, home meets, and away meets. Teach basics and fundamentals through drills and practices. Ensure safety of all students during practices, games, and away events. Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, paperwork. Serve as a positive role model on and off the fields. Help manage home track and field events. Supervise team on the field, in the locker room, and on bus trips. Align with high school track and field program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience participating in track and field events.
- Experience coaching track and field preferred.
- Knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of play.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification plus all other required certifications.
- Must have a flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and meets.
PREFERENCE: - May be given to those candidates who hold a valid Oregon teaching license.
- May be given to those candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
