Briarcliff High School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable part-time Science Research teacher to lead students through our highly regarded University at Albany Science Research in the High School Program. This three-year program provides motivated students in grades 10–12 with the opportunity to conduct original research in the natural and social sciences under the guidance of professional scientists and mentors.

Salary: Briarcliff Teachers’ Association Collective Bargaining Agreement

Responsibilities:
- Teach Science Research 10, 11, and 12, guiding students in developing independent, original research projects.
- Support students in laboratory, field, and bibliographic research methods.
- Facilitate connections between students and mentor scientists
- Prepare students to present and submit their research papers for local, regional, and national science competitions.
- Provide individualized feedback and mentoring to support student growth as independent researchers.
Position Details: - Part-time position beginning September 2025.
- Courses taught: Science Research 10 and 11 (potential for continuation with Science Research 12).
- Students may earn both high school credit and SUNY Albany college credit through this program.
Qualifications: - New York State certification in a related field
- Strong background in scientific research methods and practices.
- Experience mentoring student research projects and/or facilitating partnerships with external research institutions preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to fostering student curiosity, independence, and excellence in research.
