Job Title: Supported Housing Specialist
Rate: $18.50 hr. Top Notch Benefits
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (One late night 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. )

Supported Housing Specialist

Site-Based and Scattered Site Services
Location: Various community settings and housing sites
Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday with occasional evening or weekend hours based on tenant needs

About the Role

As a Supported Housing Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in empowering individuals to build independence and stability in their homes and lives. Working in partnership with case managers, you’ll provide direct support to tenants living in both site-based and scattered-site housing. Your work will foster dignity, promote skill-building, and help individuals access community resources that reflect their goals, cultures, and identities.

This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, culturally responsive, adaptable, and passionate about making a tangible difference in people's lives.

What You’ll Do

  • • Partner with individuals to support housing stability, goal setting, and personal growth
  • • Selectively provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other essential destinations
  • • Assist with rent collection and help tenants build financial and daily living skills
  • • Collaborate on creating inclusive tenant engagement activities, monthly newsletters, and community-building efforts
  • • Support job readiness initiatives including job fairs, assisting job coaches, and linking tenants with workforce development opportunities
  • • Coordinate with community partners to offer skill-building workshops on topics such as budgeting, meal prep, tenant rights, and more
  • • Help resolve conflicts, reinforce personal responsibility, and promote self-advocacy
  • • Provide backup support to case managers when needed
  • • Accurately document tenant interactions and progress while maintaining confidentiality and respect

Who You Are

You are someone who believes in housing as a human right and values equity, inclusion, and respect for all cultures and backgrounds. You bring empathy, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset to every challenge.
Requirements:
  • • A reliable vehicle and a valid, insurable driver’s license
  • • At least 2 years of related experience in human services, housing support, or community work
  • • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • • Comfortable navigating diverse communities and sensitive to cultural differences
  • • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • • Bonus: Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) — highly valued in our multicultural community
