Job Description
50% – Shop Monitoring and User Support
- Oversee shop spaces and users to ensure compliance with safety protocols, equipment usage guidelines, and material policies. Coordinate user cleanup and ensure proper return of tools during monitoring shifts and at closing.
20% – Shop Housekeeping and Safety
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment, including dust control, work area and equipment cleaning, chemical handling and waste management, and shop laundry.
20% – Equipment and Studio Maintenance
- Conduct tool and equipment inventory, perform light repairs, and assist with ongoing studio maintenance projects.
10% – Studio Opening and Closing
- Perform opening and closing procedures to ensure proper equipment setup, shutdown, and overall studio readiness.

Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
- Willing to work weekends as indicated on application materials.
- Metalsmithing and jewelry experience required from previous Metalsmithing courses.
Must be an enrolled METL major or graduate student (without a GTA appointment).
