BASIC FUNCTION:
Oversee the district-wide College and Career Readiness program development and implementation. Oversee the FWCS data informed Comprehensive Counseling Program as part of the FWCS multi-tier system of supports. Coordinate, plan and organize activities, programs, professional learning, trainings, meetings and workshops for managers, guidance coordinators, school counselors, and College and Career Readiness staff. Coordinate, plan and organize College and Career Readiness activities, programs and parent academies. Provide supervision for College and Career Readiness Coordinators and advisors.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate the collaboration and support of community partnerships, resources, internships, job shadowing, college fairs, college visits, career visits and FAFSA events to support Schools of Success.
Coordinate and direct communications, information, personnel and resources to meet educational needs, requirements and enhance student learning to prepare students to ENROLL in college, be EMPLOYED in viable career, ENLIST in the military, or become and ENTREPRENUER.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to: master’s degree and five years of experience in education. Must have strong interpersonal, planning, administrative, supervisory, analytical, computer, organizational, data analysis and oral and written communication skills. Incumbents must process knowledge of the comprehensive organization, operations, policies and objectives of assigned department or area. The employee must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.
ESSENTIAL FLUNCTIONS:
- Oversee district-wide College and Career Readiness program development and implementation.
- Oversee district school counseling that is aligned with American School Counselor Association, Indiana Department of Education Counselor Standards, Indiana School Counseling Competencies, and Indiana Graduation requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with the High Education Coalition to increase the number of students taking dual credit and dual enrollment courses.
- Support the efforts of the district to increase the graduation rate and ensure students have the education, knowledge and skills that are necessary for postsecondary education and careers.
- Facilitate and lead the visioning and messaging regarding College and Career Readiness and School Counseling.
- Work with school counselors to increase awareness, implementation, and sustainability of Schools of Success.
- Work with district leadership to ensure there is district-wide transformation to:
- Increase the number of students earning a high-value postsecondary credential by increasing access and enrollment in Next Level Programs of Study (CTE), Indiana College Core, and/or a Graduation Pathway of high-value credential
- Increase the number of students engaging in high-quality work-based learning opportunities during high school
- Increase the number of innovative career exploration and engagement opportunities in elementary and middle school which lead to the experience identified at the high school level
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of the College and Career Readiness staff.
- Plan, organize and monitor data-informed school counseling programs and activities as part of the FWCS multi-tier system of supports including processes, protocols, and procedures. Plan, coordinate, monitor and direct professional learning, meetings, trainings and programs for College and Career Readiness and school counselor staff.
- Plan, organize, support, direct and monitor College and Career Readiness workshops, trainings, seminars, college visits, career exploration visits and parent academies that support Schools of Success.
- Oversee and monitor departmental budget requests and expenditures.
- Provide support for the Twenty-First Century Scholarship Program, ensuring schools are achieving the district goals for enrollment and Scholar Success Program requirements.
- Plan, organize and support the Pre-College Education Consortium. Working closely with local colleges and universities regarding admission requirement, scholarships and dual-enrollment opportunities.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Chief of Family and Community Engagement and Schools of Success to meet the particular needs of the building/unit and must demonstrate participation in and contributions to the goals of district cross functional teams.
