Director, Advanced Development

Location: Suwanee, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Advanced Development is responsible for overseeing innovation in thermal systems and HVAC technologies. This role will drive the development of next-generation heat exchangers, compressors, and system-level solutions with a strong emphasis on simulation-driven design and advanced materials.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Keep abreast of new technologies, new research, new standards, and new trends to help in providing direction for the future.
  • Manage team and individual performance to meet department goals and objectives, and ensure compliance to documented company policies and procedures
  • Lead R&D initiatives in advanced HVAC systems, focusing on heat exchanger and compressor technologies.
  • Oversee the design and development of RTPF and Microchannel heat exchangers for residential and commercial applications.
  • Direct simulation and modeling efforts using CFD, FEA, and other advanced tools to optimize thermal performance and structural integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies into product roadmaps.
  • Direct technical teams through concept development, prototyping, testing, and validation.
  • Responsible for maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Represent the company in technical forums, conferences, and strategic partnerships.
  • May travel up to 20% including some international travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in heat transfer.
  • Minimum of 15 years of industry experience in HVAC or thermal systems or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years Management experience.
  • Deep expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Proven experience with RTPF and Microchannel heat exchanger design and development.
  • Strong background in compressor technology and system integration.
  • Proficiency in CFD, FEA, and other simulation tools for thermal and structural analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and technical writing skills
  • Team oriented, self-motivated and analytical approach to problem solving

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $149,600 and $205,700/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an �at-will position� and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
