Greenhouse Caretaker and Gardener bei Eagle Mountain International Church, Inc.

Description

Responsible for growing organic vegetables, fruits, flowers and other items as requested by the Parsonage. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Focus on cultivating and maintaining plants within the greenhouses and outside the greenhouses.
• Responsible for ensuring plants receive proper care,
• Monitoring watering needs.
• Purchase and install proper organic soils.
• Apply organic fertilizers for optimal produce.  
• Oversee and manage automatic watering systems.
• Manage the temperature needed for plant health.
• Control pests and bugs with organic treatments and physical barriers.
• Maintain a variety of vegetables, berries and fruit for consumption year-round.
• Deliver produce to the parsonage at the peak of ripeness.  

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

•  High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of maintenance and caretaking organic orchard and garden.
• Working knowledge of organic soil and irrigation conditions.
• Able to work alone with minimal supervision.
• Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines

 EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

• Various hand tools.
• Irrigation system.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold)

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: 

• Produce quality work and accept changes in production and timelines. 
• Keep an eye on all plants for health conditions and determine watering, fertilizer and chemical applications schedule.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

• Indoors and Outdoors

• Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives
• Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension and division
• Must maintain a good attendance record
