Janitor

Hiring Range: $15.03-16.42, depending on qualifications.

One Non Exempt, Hourly position up to 12 hours per week, but no more than 20 hours. 

This position will remain open until filled.

Position Summary: Office Workers/Janitors are employed by Ariel Clinical Services to assist the office staff with general and specific duties not related to clients. The tasks are typically of a clerical or janitorial nature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality will all records that Ariel Clinical Services has at its disposal.
2. Clean and disinfect all workspaces, including appliances, as needed and directed. 
3. Empty trash and recycling bins, as well as picking up trash outside of the Ariel building.
4. Stock items such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc., as needed throughout building.
5. Sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, steam cleaning, power washing, and snow removal, as needed.
6. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to demonstrate honesty, self-discipline and accountability for one’s actions. 
2. Have a base knowledge of methods and principles of general facility cleaning practices, including basic stain removal, cleaning, and janitorial processes.
3. Ability to assess and perform cleaning, dusting, waste removal, disinfecting/maintenance work.
4. Ability to operate a variety of hand and power equipment used during janitorial duties in a safe and effective manner.
5. Be able to read, understand and interpret oral and written instructions.  
6. The ability to understand instructions and communicate in person and in written format in English.
7. Ability to be non intrusive to the operations of Ariel Clinical Services while performing the duties of the job.
8. The ability to maintain standards of excellence. Ability to work independently and be personally accountable for quality of work.
9. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and through technology as needed.  
10. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and maintain a high level of confidentiality. 
11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Physical Demands

1. This position requires that the incumbent be capable of walking, bending, standing, sitting, stooping, stretching, and/or reaching regularly for periods up to 2 hours without a break.  
2. This position requires that the incumbent have adequate hand and finger dexterity to properly perform the functions of the position.
3. This position requires lifting regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
4. This position requires the ability to hear, see, smell and distinguish temperature, at a level which is adequate to ensure client and staff health and safety. Adaptive devices are acceptable.
5. Climbing may be required from time to time.

Work Environment

1. Exposure to typical climate controlled office environment when in the office.
2. Exposure to all climates and weather conditions while working outside. 
3. Exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious disease is possible, but limited.
4. Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible, but limited.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:  

• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum of one year of facility janitorial/cleaning experience.

Preferred: 

• Minimum of 3 years successful work experience in a commercial setting. 

Certifications/Licenses

Required: 

• Valid Colorado Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
