About the Role
As a Maintenance Crew Leader, you will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in managing and coordinating essential maintenance activities at the TZO and North Buffalo Water Reclamation Facilities. You will lead a crew responsible for welding, tank maintenance and repairs, structural upkeep, and specialized projects to ensure facilities remain safe and compliant.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading a crew performing welding on incinerators, tank maintenance/repairs, and light structural work
Coordinating and completing annual inspections/maintenance for 68 settling tanks and 13 chemical tanks
Overseeing emergency repairs and special projects to support day-to-day operations
Establishing work priorities, coordinating personnel/equipment, and ensuring tasks meet NPDES permit requirements
Promoting workplace safety and scheduling safety training for the maintenance team
This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- "OR" an equivalency of 15 years of Water Utility or "related
- 4+ years of Water Utility experience or directly related" field
- NC "1" Biological Wastewater Pollution Control System Operator Certification ("OR" the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire date)
- Certified Welder (CW),
- Valid Class B Driver's License
