IT Systems Administrator I:

The IT Systems Administrator I is responsible for maintaining a stable and efficient application environment at the Credit Union by utilizing advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows, VMware, storage systems, and other server technologies. This role involves researching, planning, implementing, and maintaining various IT systems.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage all aspects of the First Heritage Active Directory domain, including organizational unit (OU) structure, domain controllers, DNS, and DHCP
  • Create group policies, conditional access rules, and Intune policies
  • Oversee the server and virtualization environment, including hardware/software installations and upgrades, as well as the installation and maintenance of third-party applications. Ensure timely application of security patches, software updates, and firmware upgrades
  • Manage the Storage Area Network (SAN) environment
  • Configure and monitor daily event logs and the health performance of all servers and operating systems
  • Maintain and monitor backups and replication processes to ensure successful completion
  • Continuously identify and remediate security configuration issues on all connected FHFCU devices
  • Develop and update PowerShell scripts to automate workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide assistance with networking and desktop support tasks as needed
  • Participate as a team member on projects and implementations relevant to the areas of responsibility
  • Maintain procedures, software installation documentation, and disaster recovery plans related to areas of responsibility
  • Respond to internal monitoring alerts and notifications regarding networking equipment, server services, and applications

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Experience:

At least three years of experience in Information Technology roles, preferably in Windows Server and virtualization environments

Experience in a financial institution is a plus

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

A minimum of a four-year degree with a concentration in Information Technology (or equivalent experience), along with additional courses or certification related to this position

Interpersonal Skills:

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Other Skills:

Will be required to work outside of scheduled hours to respond to technology issues.

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
