Position Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job description satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Participate in Spring/Fall training sessions
  • Invite students to attend college and TRiO events each term
  • Maintain personal contact with each assigned student at least 2x per month
  • Meet with TRiO Coordinator once a month, more if needed
  • Complete paperwork about interactions with assigned students
  • Serve as a positive social and academic role model
  • Maintain confidentiality with any shared information
  • Adhere to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Regulations.
  • Follow and enforce all KCC policies and procedures.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Must be able to remain patient while helping students with diverse learning needs and maintain a positive, encouraging demeanor.
  • Must be able to work effectively with students from various backgrounds, cultures, and academic levels to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be a current student at Klamath Community College.
  • Must maintain good academic standing with a GPA of a 2.75 or higher

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The work environment is indoors.
  • This position requires sitting at a desk or table, standing at a board or table, or a combination of both.
