Student Worker Herbarium Student Assistant

Job Duties:

• Research collections of plants are shared among botanists around the world as a way to explore and document biological diversity. 
• Key to this interchange is the organization, care, and documentation of dried samples of plants. 
• The herbarium intern will assist curators in upgrading the research collections, mounting and repairing specimens, and packing and sending specimens to other museums. 

Required Skills / Qualifications:  

• Previous experience is not required, but the work requires attention to detail and care in handling fragile and sometimes irreplaceable research specimens.
• Useful skills and experience for this position: 
  1. Work with archival materials, library experience, activities involving careful record-keeping, biology course work. 

Courses Completed: Completion of biology courses helpful, but not required. 

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Must be able to work mornings, nights or weekends.
• Must possess the physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
