Material Handler - Receiving bei Lifeway Christian Resources

The Material Handler - Receiving is responsible for the operation of material handling equipment to perform a variety of functions within the distribution center including inbound product receipt, picking, stocking, staging and order fulfillment. This position will rotate from area-to-area within the distribution center as workload dictates. 

This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday-Friday from 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.

I-Hybrid

• Safe operation of material handling equipment to perform a variety of functions within the distribution center:
  • Pick/pull for replenishment of components and place product in assigned staging/picking areas.
  • Scan to verify the product and assigned location is accurate.
  • Sort, build, and shrink wrap products into pallets in compliance with established standards.
  • Perform pre/post operation inspection of assigned material handling equipment.

• Clean work area removing pallets, boxes, paper, plastic and banding. 
• Perform other distribution work functions as workload dictates. 

• High School Diploma, or GED, preferred
• 3+ years in warehousing, shipping, or logistics
• 1+ years experience operating material handling equipment 
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g. order picker, turret, forklift, manual/electric pallet jack, etc.) - Advanced
• Interpersonal skills - Intermediate
• Ability to adapt to changes in systems, processes and technology - Intermediate
• Attention to detail and accuracy - Intermediate
• Problem solving skills - Intermediate
• Accurately follow directions, both written and verbal - intermediate 

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50lbs with a range from a floor level to above shoulder height walking and standing on concrete floors for a period of up to two hours; pushing and pulling rolling carts or pallet jacks bearing loads of up to 500 pounds; free range of motion including twisting, bending, stooping, including climbing on step ladders.
• Ability to work overtime, as needed.
• Must be willing to work at extended heights.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• Must have a valid state issued driver's license.
