PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist for SIOP & Analytics is responsible for driving process improvements and data-driven efficiencies within the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This role combines continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) with advanced data analytics to optimize demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and capacity alignment. The ideal candidate will partner cross-functionally to build a robust, predictable, and continuously improving SIOP process for a multi-customer CDMO environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous Improvement (CI) of SIOP Processes
- Identify, lead, and sustain process improvement projects across SIOP activities (Demand Review, Supply Review, Pre-SIOP, Executive SIOP).
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving tools to streamline transactional planning processes and eliminate waste.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, process mapping, and root cause analyses for demand/supply process gaps.
Data Analytics & Process Automation
- Build advanced data models and dashboards to support decision-making (forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, inventory health).
- Automate repetitive data tasks and reporting cycles using Excel VBA, SQL, Python, or Power Automate.
- Lead the development of scenario modeling and what-if analysis tools.
Master Data & Process Governance
- Improve the integrity and governance of master data (products, routings, capacity models, lead times) supporting SIOP.
- Partner with ERP and planning system owners to streamline data flows and process automation.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Engage with Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Commercial teams to align on SIOP data flows and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support change management efforts to embed CI practices in daily SIOP routines.
Key Process Metrics Ownership
- Drive improvement in key SIOP KPIs:
- Forecast Accuracy
- SIOP Adherence (plan vs. actual)
- Inventory Turns
- Schedule Adherence
- Capacity Utilization
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–6+ years in Continuous Improvement, Business Process Optimization, or Supply Chain Analytics, ideally in Pharma, CDMO, or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of SIOP/IBP processes and supply chain operations.
- Proven expertise in Excel (advanced), SQL, Power BI/Tableau, and process mapping tools.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred).
Preferred:
- ERP planning experience (SAP ECC/S4, Oracle, or similar).
- Exposure to planning systems (SAP IBP, Kinaxis, o9, Anaplan).
- Strong data modeling or programming skills (Python, R, Power Automate, or Alteryx).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and lead cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
