ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Audit MARs for any medical changes.
- Communicate new orders to nurses. Monitor and ensure orders are properly entered into the software.
- Assist in ensuring clients have all required medications.
- Train all new nursing personnel as directed by the Health Services Director (HSD) or RN Supervisor.
- Check the Individual Support Plan (ISP) Schedule and attend ISPs as assigned by the HSD or RN Supervisor.
- Assist with on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure client vitals are documented in the computer.
- Coordinate the ISP process as it relates to medical issues.
- Coordinate information regarding doctor’s orders.
- Review nursing notes daily and ensure accurate and thorough documentation.
- Assist with ensuring medical reports from Medical Providers are obtained and filed.
- Coordinate and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual nursing documentation.
- Assist in the maintenance of medical records to ensure complete, accurate, and pertinent information of all health conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Assist medical providers with examinations as required.- Notify the HSD/RN Supervisor and physician of client needs.
- Transcribe physician orders as required and review orders weekly to ensure the accuracy of transcription and administration of medication.
- Follow facility and pharmacy procedures for ordering and receiving medications.
- Ensure nurses are trained on the client’s Behavior Support Plan as required.
- Responsible for conducting LPN performance reviews and administering corrective actions with the final approval of the Health Services Director
- Assist with creating the nursing schedule and finding coverage for open shifts.
- Assist with training staff on client health concerns and Open Arms Care policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory management (medical supplies, etc.).
- Attend Nursing staff meetings as scheduled.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
- Current TN LPN license in good standing
- Current driver’s license
- CPR certification
- Ability to lift repetitively a minimum of 50 pounds; tasks may include lifting, repositioning, turning, bending, squatting etc.
