Full-Time Faculty for Biology Program


DESCRIPTION: 

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies at Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in biology for the 2026-2027 academic year. For full consideration, applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation, a brief research summary, and a statement of teaching philosophy. Review of applications will begin on August 25, 2025, and the search will remain open until the position is filled.  Candidates chosen for a campus interview will be expected to provide official undergraduate and graduate transcripts before they are hired.

Key Responsibilities:

    Teaching anatomy and physiology for students in the health sciences.

    Teaching physiology and other courses in the biology curriculum, as needed. 

    Mentoring undergraduate research.

    Advising biology students.

    Assisting in curriculum and course development.

    Exploring grant opportunities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS

    A Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline.

    Evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate courses.

    Understanding of the value of a liberal arts education. 

    Demonstration of a strong commitment to research with undergraduate students.
