POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides security for events and concerts
Responsibilities:You will conduct the following responsibilities upholding Tarian’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.
- Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons
- Patrol and roam the Guest Areas of the venue, monitoring areas for safety and compliance with the house rules, interacting with Guests, and addressing safety and security concerns
- Operate metal detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent the passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
- Partner with fellow crew members at the end of the show to close the venue- this may include collecting recyclables from the reserved section, and picking up and properly storing event equipment such as chairs, barricades, etc.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations
- May write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Apprehend and evict Guests in violation of house rules or causing a safety hazard to themselves and others.
- Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color or date issued.
- Provide accommodations for guests with special needs both prior to and day of the show- this could include offering assistance to someone who uses a wheelchair.
- Inform guests of the layout of the venue and be prepared to direct them to the restrooms, concession stands, and designated seats/sections.
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Completed High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
- Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift
Desired Qualification of the Security Officer:
- Previous work experience with the public in a service setting
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
