Position Duties
In this leadership role, you would:
- Lead and oversee all departmental HR functions, including policy development, recruitment, classification, employee relations, staff development, benefits, and compliance.
- Provide strategic guidance to executive management on personnel issues impacting operations, organizational structure, and long-term goals.
- Shape and influence HR programs that affect an entire department’s workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements to Qualify:
Option I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree* in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field - AND - Three (3) years of highly responsible experience supervising professional-level staff** conducting technical human resources work in areas such as recruitment and selection, discipline/advocacy, classification, and/or, employee relations, two (2) years of which must have been at the level of the County of Los Angeles class of Administrative Services Manager III; Personnel Officer III; Principal Analyst, Human Resources; Section Manager, Administration, ISD; or higher.
Option II: Six (6) years of highly responsible administrative experience*** performing the more difficult technical human resources work; three (3) years of which must have been supervising professional-level staff conducting technical human resources work in areas such as recruitment and selection, discipline/advocacy, classification, and/or employee relations, two (2) years of which must have been at the level of the County of Los Angeles class of Administrative Services Manager III; Personnel Officer III; Principal Analyst, Human Resources; Section Manager, Administration, ISD; or higher.

If you recently took identical components for other exams, the test responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams, and your responses could be transferred to that exam.
