Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time Admissions Counselor. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Counselor will be responsible  for representing the Admissions Office at various events,  processing and reviewing applications for admission, and  communicating with students and parents regarding the admissions process. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Attend college fairs and individual school visits at high schools and community colleges. Develop relationships with high school counselors, parents, and prospective students. 

  • Attend and assist with admissions activities for campus events

  • Review domestic and international applications; make general acceptance decisions and refer freshman connect and denies to the Director; input evaluation and student information into the database.  Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on systems.

  • Correspond with prospective students regarding admission applications via telephone, e-mail and written communication.  Answer inquiries and interview prospective students.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of University academic programs, support services, financial aid and billing procedures.

  • Manage all facets of special student categories (i.e. international, music/art programs, health affiliation, dual degree, honors program)

  • Meet with and conduct tours for parents and students.

  • Prospective student, applicant and inquiry data entry

  • Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO-Immigration Compliance Officer) to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division (ICE) in international student immigration-related matters, including the issuing of the Form I-20; entering, updating, maintaining, and tracking of Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)  records to ensure they are current and in compliance. Monitor statistical operational records, as needed. 


Bachelor’s degree required. One to two years of effective experience preferred. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license and be available to travel during peak recruiting times.
