Major/Essential Functions
As a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, you will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research, teaching, and graduate mentoring program in theoretical and empirical industrial organization. We seek applicants with analytical skills and expertise in microeconomic theory, industrial organization, game theory, and current empirical methods to conduct research in competition, market structure, conduct, performance, regulation, pricing strategies, econometric models analyzing firm-level and industry-level issues, mergers, and antitrust issues.
Duties include teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students, attracting external funding, publishing research results in reputed national and international peer-reviewed agricultural economics and economics journals, and service to the department, college, and university.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large firm-level and industry-level datasets.
- A proven capacity or a record indicative of scholarships and publications in reputable journals.
- A proven track record or a record indicative of securing extramural federal funding.
- Demonstrated ability or a record indicative of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
- Clear understanding of American production agriculture and background in mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, consolidation, ag law, and the legal system related to food production and marketing
- Familiarity with USDA, DOJ, and FTC data and merger guidelines
- Demonstrated ability or a record indicative of working independently and collaboratively with colleagues and teams as evidenced by jointly authored journal articles or funded federal grants.

Faculty Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a similar field.
- Demonstrated excellence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills as evidenced by articles submitted or published in professional economics or agricultural economics journals.
- Excellent training in theoretical and empirical industrial organization, microeconomic theory, game theory, and econometrics.
