09/02/2025 Additional Information: Show/Hide - Set up, maintain, and instruct new and existing driver training programs including maintaining training records according to state, federal, and District regulations. Administer online safety training as prescribed by Adams County BOCES in standard First Aid, CPR, driving in adverse weather and mountain terrain, awareness, defensive driving, substance abuse, sexual harassment, child abuse, student management, blood born pathogens (BBP), and safe clean up and prevention of disease transmission. Including instructing the CPR and First Aid training to transportation & non- transportation employees and entering all information into the database. Provide small vehicle training to coaches, teachers, and transition drivers as required by CDE.
- Provide first phase of in classroom Entry-Level Driver Training as part of the mandatory CDL training and 3rd Party CDL testing for Trainee Bus Drivers and mechanic workers to obtain commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class B.
- Keep Clearinghouse Database up to date and run queries for all CDL new hires, and annual reports for district reporting requirements.
- Work with Lead Trainer in keeping all training materials up to date for the Mapleton Training Program.
- Assist Lead Trainer with conducting annual Mountain Training for qualified drivers.
- Instruct Bus Drivers and Bus Paraprofessionals on proper and safe usage of wheelchair lifts to include manual operations. Instruct on proper procedure for applying safety restraints on wheelchairs, the placement of wheelchairs on the bus, and the use of Bessi seats, safety vests, and any assisting equipment designed for the safe transportation of students. Instruct drivers and paraprofessionals on specific medical conditions and adaptations that may be required for safe transportation.
- Assist with In-Service planning & Conducting In-Service Training
- Respond to two-way radio, phone calls, act as a para, and drive routes as needed. Occasionally cover front desk duties which may include answering guest questions and handing out driver keys.
- Route and maintain schedules for all general education routes throughout the school year with the help of the Office Manager. Ensuring all stops that are placed on hold are updated for the driver route folders. Follow departmental guidelines to develop district bus routes and stops to provide safe and efficient transportation of students. Use Trans Finder for developing stop/routes for students with special needs. Assist in monitoring and maintaining the safety of bus stops and loading zones.
- Utilize Zonar to generate and monitor Paw Passes for Parents/Students as new replacements, as well as process registration of current and new bus riders. Track weekly reports of students that do not have their paw passes.
- Provide student/parent information to drivers for parent contact. Maintain student misconduct reports in database and file copies. Send copies to parents & related schools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- More than 3 years of experience with computers, data entry, and office and secretarial skills.
- Experience with bus routing software preferred.

- Must be at least 21 years of age.

- Must pass DOT physical.
- Must have a record of safe driving per motor vehicle record check.
