(EWR) Full Time Lead High Lift Driver bei United Ground Express, Inc.

Position Summary:

The Lead High Lift Driver is responsible for driving the High Lift Truck on the ramp with the support of a guiding agent. They will transport new and used supplies, support carpet cleaning operations, and communicate with the cleaning and dispatch teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive a large High Lift truck on the Ramp while maneuvering around aircraft.
• Pick up and deliver cleaning supplies from the warehouse to the aircraft.
• Remove and return used supplies from the aircraft.
• Assist cleaning teams with provisioning the aircraft.
• Perform carpet cleaning from the High Lift truck.
• Communicate with and listen to agent guiding the High Lift truck.
• Utilize a PDA and Radio to effectively communicate with cleaning teams, supervisors, and dispatch teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and minimum requirements:

• High school diploma, GED or preferred.
• Minimum of 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must possess strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to operate a computer/tablet to enter and retrieve data.
• Must be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities including, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
• Must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal) per local requirements.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need.
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications.
