POSITION TITLE:Production Bagger Operator | DEPARTMENT:Operations | FLSA STATUS:Non-Exempt |
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bagger Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining bagging equipment to ensure products are packaged accurately, safely, and in compliance with company quality standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency and product integrity throughout the packaging process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates and monitors bagging machines, ensuring correct weight, seal integrity, and labeling.
- Conducts start-up checks and daily inspections of baggers, conveyors, scales, and other related equipment.
- Follows GMP manufacturing and QA protocols with minimal guidance from supervisor.
- Ensures packaging materials (film, labels, cases, totes) are available and properly set up before and during runs.
- Monitors product quality, including weight checks, seals, and coding, and reports any deviations immediately.
- Completes all required production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
- Performs minor adjustments and changeovers on bagging equipment as needed.
- Reports equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or downtime issues to the Line Leader or Operations Supervisor.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the packaging area, following 5S and safety guidelines.
- Assists with training of new operators as needed.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Operations Supervisor.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good organizational skills and an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously required
- Basic analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams
- Demonstrates ability to consistently meet proposed objective timelines
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work on weekends and overtime
- Must have basic math and computer skills.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- Must exhibit professionalism and maturity and display desire to succeed, be self-motivated and proactive required
- Working knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, SSOP, GMP’s, LOTO and other guidelines
- High School Diploma / GED preferred
