Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for an experienced Bridge Engineer to assist with our projects in Michigan! This is a hybrid position that, once established, can report to any of our offices in Michigan or Ohio on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities
- In-depth understanding of bridge design, bridge inspection, and retaining wall design
- Planning, development, and completion of other related structural engineering tasks will be required, conforming to standard MDOT practices.
- Project assignments that will be primarily located in Michigan with additional out of state assignments possible
- Preparing bridge layouts, material quantity calculations, and construction specs of all bridge types.
- QA/QC of other design staff and projects
- Coordination with other engineering and technical staff.
- Experience with project management including coordination with clients.
- Ability to work independently.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in Bridge Engineering
- Must have Michigan PE license
- Experience with MDOT and/or MDOT LAP
- AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design experience
- MicroStation and OpenRoads experience required. Civil 3D is a plus!
- AASHTOWare BrR , Merlin Dash, MathCAD or other equivalent design and load rating software preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and with others as a team member.
- Communication skills are a must, as this will be in a teaming environment.
