Patient Access Insurance Clerk (FULL TIME) bei Southwest Health System, Inc.

The duties of the Insurance Clerk is to keep in contact with and verify all patients' insurance companies when a pre-auth is needed and to notify the Patient Financial Counselor of any self pay patients for proper financial placement. Performs a variety of typing and clerical duties in connection with commercial insurance coverage for hospital patients. Types and assists in completing claim forms and associated papers. Explains coverage to patients. Contacts insurance carriers for necessary information, or to clarify cases. Reports approvals or payments on coverage to accounts receivable section. Types billings to insurance carriers in accordance with procedures. Maintains all related files and correspondence.

Regulatory/Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Language Skills:

• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Skills:

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong communication skills.
