GENERAL FUNCTION: The person in this will work with the prescribers and other members of the staff to ensure continuity of care and to provide quality care for all our clients. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist the medical staff in performing their duties and ensure that all functions are completed within the required accordance of established policies and procedures of AHC.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
QUALIFICATIONS; KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED TRAINING: The person occupying this position must have a High School diploma or GED and Certification as a Medical Assistant. Behavioral Health or Mental Health experience is a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assess the needs and problems of individual clients.
- To participate in the development of treatment for clients.
- To complete documentation within required Center time frames.
- To chart information.
- Attend clinical and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information.
- Build positive relationships with staff and physicians.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
- Follow Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
- Check height, weight, temperature and blood pressure
- Calling in Prescriptions to Pharmacies
- Collect Laboratory Specimens
- Maintaining Patient Medical Records
- Updating Patient Files
- Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients
- Other duties as assigned.
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: In order to appropriately accomplish his/her duties, the person occupying this position will be required to maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of clinical staff people, mental health consumers, and other professionals.
