JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Maintenance Technician III
Department: Maintenance
Shift: Days
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Exempt/Non-exempt Non-exempt
Position purpose/core responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance of Vaupell’s equipment and facility to minimize downtime.
Main Duties
- Install, test, operate and maintain plant systems and equipment to include compressed air, water, electrical, hydraulic, and other plastic production equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain accurate record results on selected machines.
- Perform safety inspections as directed.
- Inspect plant equipment and facilities.
- Disassemble plant equipment and machinery and install new parts as required.
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively cross functionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification Guidelines
- Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Skills and experience required
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems is desired.
- Valid Washington State drivers license preferred.
- Forklift experience.
Environmental Condition
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
