Sacred Circle Healthcare is seeking Patient Service Reps II.

Job Summary

General Summary of Duties: Responsible for all front office functions including customer service, patient registration, insurance verification, cashiering, appointment scheduling, answering telephones, filing, computer work, and handling medical records. Responsible for advanced front office specialty duties related to patient retention, prior authorization, paperwork processing and completion as well as benefit coordination.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks: 

  • Serves as a new hire mentor and designated front office trainer. 
  • Assists with internal and external Specialty referrals, prior authorizations, and release of records per coordination of care guidelines.
  • Assists with specialized eligibility determination as it relates to the treatment plan.
  • Assists with Backoffice paperwork, Recall Appointment coordination, and check out procedures.
  • Coordinates extended patient scheduling and follows procedures to verify and complete extended scheduling requests.  
  • Care coordination of benefits of medical device (dentures, glasses, DME, etc) and procedure treatment.
  • tracking trending and coordination of department scheduling protocols.
  • Assists with patient retention projects, and performs task initiatives.
  • Primary contact billing demographic error correction
  • Welcomes patients/clients/visitors, determines purpose of visit, and directs them to the appropriate person or department. 
  • Checks in patients and properly documents registration. 
  • Verifies insurance and verifies patient demographics. 
  • Schedules, cancels, and reschedules patient appointments. 
  • Collects co-pays and cash from patients, gets authorization on credit cards. 
  • Enters payment into the computer. 
  • Files and retrieves medical records. Copying and faxing duties. 
  • Answers webchat inquiries, phones, emr requests, and sms messaging platforms in a timely manner. 
  • Practices and adheres to the Mission, Vision, and Values Statement. 
  • Reads, understands, and adheres, to all Sacred Circle Health Care policies and procedures. 
  • Keeps patient waiting areas, office, and files clean and organized.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all Sacred Circle Health Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements. 
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION: 

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 

Two (2) or more years of healthcare front office experience and at least 1 year working directly with the specialty service identified on job listing. (i.e dental, optometry, physical therapy, sud, etc) or shows advanced expertise and performance with current SCHC PSR duties and responsibilities.

Preferred Requirements:

EDUCATION: 

 

EXPERIENCE: 

1+ year experience working with specialty prior authorizations, insurance eligibility determination for specialty services, coordination of benefits for dme or specialty procedure(s) including surgery authorizations, global billing tracking, documentation and reporting.

Experience working with the Native American community.

Experience working in a healthcare setting.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:  

  • Efficient knowledge of office equipment including fax machine, copier, computer, telephones, etc. 
  • Advanced knowledge of benefit coordination, and eligibility.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare front office specialty scheduling procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Ability to organize and communicate clearly. 
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effect working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. 
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. 
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. 
  • Ability to learn and develop point of sale system and electronic medical skills.
