Overview: The Desktop Technician plays a key role in supporting and maintaining MCU’s end-user technology environment. This position provides hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, virtual desktops, and peripherals, while ensuring systems are compliant, secure, and optimized for productivity. The Desktop Technician works closely with IT teams to resolve technical issues, support business operations, and contribute to technology initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and printing issues.
- Support end-users in Citrix, VMware Horizon, or AVD environments.
- Assist with PowerShell scripting and execution for system tasks and automation.
- Deploy devices using Microsoft Intune, MECM, or JAMF.
- Support identity management, MFA enrollment, and encryption policy enforcement.
- Ensure endpoints meet security and compliance standards.
- Provide in-person support to branches and VIP users as needed.
- Maintain asset inventory and perform IT lifecycle operations.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure and project delivery.
- Adhere to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar IT support role.
- Proficient in Windows 10/11, with basic macOS and IOS experience.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience using and troubleshooting VDI (Citrix, VMware, or Azure Virtual Desktop).
- Understanding of PowerShell scripting and ability to run and troubleshoot scripts.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Intune, MECM, or JAMF.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
