Job Summary
The Data Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operations of the data warehouse team, ensuring the effective design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise data warehouse systems and projects. This role is responsible for developing and managing the organization’s data architecture, overseeing data repository creation, and ensuring robust ETL processes, reporting capabilities, and modeling solutions. The position plays a key role in maintaining high standards for data quality, accuracy, and accessibility to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day activities of the data warehouse architecture team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of projects and support activities.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data warehouse architecture.
- Oversee the development and optimization of database structures, data repositories, and data modeling solutions.
- Ensure the successful execution of ETL architecture, OLAP design, and database reporting initiatives.
- Establish and enforce processes for auditing data warehouses to maintain accuracy, data integrity, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with business leaders, analysts, and IT teams to define business rules, data governance protocols, and reporting requirements.
- Manage the selection, implementation, and use of BI analytics, reporting tools, and database management systems.
- Ensure compliance with department policies, budgets, and project milestones.
- Provide leadership in staffing decisions, performance evaluations, compensation recommendations, and employee training and development.
- Keep current with emerging data warehousing technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve system capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manages a team of data warehouse architects, developers, analysts, and related technical staff.
- Provides clear direction, sets priorities, and monitors performance to ensure project deliverables, quality standards, and deadlines are met.
- Conducts regular one-on-one and team meetings to communicate objectives, review progress, and address challenges.
- Ensures adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and data governance standards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehousing, database management, or related technical role.
- 1–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Proficiency in data warehouse architecture, database design, and data modeling.
- Experience with database management systems and data warehouse software.
- Expertise in data quality processes, data governance, and business rule implementation.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools, OLAP systems, BI analytics/reporting platforms, and hierarchical storage management.

Physical Requirements
This position works under usual office conditions. The associate is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
