Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering at Miami University seeks a distinguished visiting professor for the Fall 2025 semester (August 25–December 12, 2025) to advance the University’s emerging strengths in Quantum Computing.Job Description
This part-time, non-benefit-eligible appointment carries a stipend and requires an on-campus presence two days every other week. The Visiting Professor will develop an online course for the BS in Quantum Computing, create two online modules (one for executive education and one for K–12 outreach), advise two Quantum Computing capstone projects, and collaborate with Miami faculty to prepare and submit two research proposals in Quantum Computing. The role emphasizes excellence in curriculum design, mentorship, and externally funded research collaboration, in alignment with University policies on endowed positions and the Terms of Employment for Part-Time Instructional Staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Be on campus two days every other week during Fall 2025.
Develop an online course supporting the BS in Quantum Computing.
Create two online modules: (1) executive-focused quantum computing; (2) K–12 outreach.
Advise two undergraduate capstone projects in Quantum Computing.
Collaborate with faculty to develop and submit two Quantum Computing research proposals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Quantum Computing by date of appointment.
