Family Assessment & Support Worker
Department: Healthy Families Location: New Castle, INFamily Assessment & Support Worker
Salary: $36,000-$39,000 annually
The Family Assessment/Support Worker (FASW) will act as a team member in managing and providing client-centered, culturally competent, and effective services to children and their families. The FASW will be responsible for initiating and maintaining regular and long-term contact/support with families; interviewing families, conducting home visits with a family-centered and strength- based approach, acting as a liaison between Healthy Families and resource agencies, improving family support system and establishing goals; increasing family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children.
The Family Assessment & Support Worker will:

Conduct client-centered, culturally competent, and effective services to children and their families.

Serve as a regular and long-term contact/support with families

Conduct home visits with a family-centered and strength- based approach to assist families in strengthening parent-child relationship, improve family support system and establish goals; increase family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children.

Conduct in-home parent assessment/interviews, collect data, and assess client needs

Provide child development, family safety, and community resources to families

Act as a liaison between Healthy Families and resource and referral agencies

Advocate for parents and children in the community and participate in community special events.
Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Experience in working with or providing services to children and families

An ability to establish trusting relationships

Knowledge of infant and child development
