Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 700+ passionate team members. This role will be 5 days a week onsite in Auburn Hills.
What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Logistics Specialist to manage our domestic and international trucking lanes, oversee parcel shipping contracts, and drive data-informed logistics decisions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring cost- effective, timely, and efficient transportation solutions through carrier management, route optimization, and performance analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develops and maintains lane strategies to support operational and cost efficiencies
- Analyzes route performance and identifies opportunities for consolidation and cost reductions
- Oversees and supports end-to-end coordination of LTL (less-than-truckload) and FTL (full-truckload) shipments across domestic and international lanes
- Oversees parcel shipping activities (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL), including contract negotiations and performance monitoring
- Evaluates carrier service level agreements (SLAs) and ensures contractual obligations are met
- Partners with Operations to source and select parcel carriers based on cost, service, and operational fit
- Monitors fuel surcharges, rate increases, and surcharges to control shipping costs
- Collects, cleans, and analyzes logistics data to support network optimization, carrier performance, and budget forecasting
- Maintains KPIs related to transit time, cost per shipment, on-time delivery, and exception management
- Leverages tools such as Excel, BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), or TMS to generate reports and identifies trends
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data flow across systems
- Serves as the primary contact for carrier performance issues, escalations, and process improvements
- Performs quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key logistics partners
- Maintains and updates routing guides and carrier scorecards
- Will perform additional responsibilities when required
Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
- BA in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or Related Field and /or equivalent years of experience
- 3+ years of experience in trucking and/or parcel logistics operations
- Strong understanding of freight classes, Incoterms, accessorial charges, and international transportation
- Proficiency in TMS platforms and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Ability to interpret and act on logistics performance data and financial metrics
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
- Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
- A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
- Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)
Not Required but Nice to Have!
- Experience managing parcel contracts and carrier RFPs
- Familiarity with cross-border trade in North America or international compliance procedures
- Experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for logistics dashboards
- Certification in transportation, logistics, or supply chain (e.g., CTL, APICS, CSCMP)
