Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system mission statement. This position serves as lead to team members that are on a rotation cycle to schools by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

 

  1. Responsible for coordinating and prioritizing maintenance needs with building principal.

 

  1. Visually inspects facilities and equipment.

 

  1. Dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired parts, to include but not limited to plumbing and electrical.

 

  1. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.

 

  1. Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.

 

  1. Directly supervises team members.

 

  1. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with system policies and applicable laws.

 

  1. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

  1. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Teams Supervisor.

 

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

      

 

 

  1. Education and/or Experience: A one year certificate from an accredited technical school; or six months related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  1. Certificate or License Required: Valid Georgia driver's license.                        

 

  1. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondences; Ability to speak effectively before a group of system employees.                      

 

  1. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate; ratio; and percent.             

 

  1. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
