MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university. A minimum of eight years’ work experience (including at least three years supervisory or administrative experience) in the administration of information/education technology systems.  Two years employee managerial experience preferred.  Experience in a public K-12 school system preferred.    

 

GOAL

To ensure effective technology support and cross divisional alignment of district services for staff and students. Ensure that technology-based resources are operational and conducive to promoting productivity, technology literacy and student achievement in a K-12 environment.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, coach and oversee the evaluation and daily work performance of Technology Field Managers and Technology and Audio/Visual Specialists.
  • Ensure the timely acquisition and delivery of hardware, software and support to end-users throughout the District
  • Consult regularly with the Chief Information Officer for planning and coordinating projects, acquiring product and special tasks.
  • Collaborate on the planning, acquisition and deployment of networked, online and computer-based hardware and software.
  • Partner both cross-divisionally and within the Technology and Information Services Division to develop and present Professional Development as needed.
  • Provide oversight in the creation and management of major departmental and District projects and initiatives.
  • Research and recommend new and emerging technologies that may add value and quality to the operations of the District.
  • Develop and maintain a technology support schedule for all District work locations.
  • Oversee and construct processes that assist with the aggregation of data for District reporting efforts.
  • Ensure District technology assets are maintained, accurate and updated annually within the adopted platform.
  • Collaborate on the creation of processes that enhance workflow and productivity.
  • Provide consultation and advisement to senior management, as needed.
  • Oversee, maintain and utilize an electronic system that tracks the volume, type and status of technology-based work requests.
  • Ensure that the District’s technology naming and numbering standards are followed.
  • Annually develop and maintain a budget for anticipated.
  • Actively participate in the short- and long-term strategic planning.
  • Oversee and direct thorough documentation of processes, procedures and configurations and share that information with the District technology personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate training is provided for technologies as needed.
  • Assist in the interviewing and selection of new employee candidates.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of an agenda for departmental staff meetings.
  • Professionally represent the District at meetings, conventions and conferences as approved.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
  • Assist in the evaluation, assessment and implementation of new and emerging technologies.
  • Adhere to the rules set forth by the Cherokee County Board of Education with regard to soliciting vendors for pricing and purchase/procurement.
  • Adhere to the rules set forth by the Cherokee County Board of Education regarding the storage of purchasing and procurement processes and documentation.
  • Provide pricing and vendor information to purchasing agents.
  • Track repair of hardware items with vendors and resolve billing disputes.
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of the District.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license(s), certificate(s) and/or credential(s) as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
  • Participate in the periodic review of designated employee’s job performance.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a positive and professional work environment.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
