Position Title: Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator - Non Academic Support

The primary function of the MTSS Coordinator is to lead and oversee the development of a district-wide MTSS program that supports the whole child. The MTSS Coordinator collaborates closely with building administrators, educators, support staff, families, and students to establish and implement an inclusive and equitable tiered framework that uses data to meet the needs of each and every student through behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL) interventions. The MTSS Coordinator provides guidance across the district to ensure that research-based MTSS strategies, interventions, and systems are in place to support student achievement.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Education required;
5 years of experience as a teacher or principal in a school utilizing MTSS required;
Knowledge of the MTSS framework, positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), response to intervention (RTI), social-emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices, trauma-informed practices, and family engagement required.
Ability to provide leadership and manage complex projects.
Ability to facilitate change management within individuals, teams, and organizations, including implementing professional learning for adult learners and staff development.
Ability to collect and analyze data to drive improvement.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of directors, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform these essential duties using mathematical units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts mathematically related to proportions, percentages, area, and circumference using appropriate and basic mathematical skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve routine problems with minimal supervisory assistance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, with staff and with the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness and consistency to the mission and goals established by the Board of Education.

Supervisory Responsibility: All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment at all times.
Salary Range: Dependent upon credentials and experience.
Non-union position. 207 work days; 12 sick days; 23 vacation days
Essential Duties
Lead and monitor a district-wide MTSS implementation plan aligned to the district’s vision for MTSS.
Implement and lead School MTSS Committees that include representatives from each school and their stakeholders.
Based on needs assessment, oversee the development of Tier 1,2, and 3 intervention protocols, problem-solving processes, data-based decision-making, progress monitoring, and communication and collaboration processes among Student Support Teams.
Identify and implement district-wide universal screening for social-emotional learning and behavior.
Develop training programs and provide ongoing coaching for leadership teams, staff, and teachers on the MTSS framework and research-based practices for tiered intervention.
Implement an MTSS management system and partner with schools through team-based leadership to ensure effective data collection, data analysis, and program evaluation and efficacy.
Partner with community organizations, government agencies, out-of-school programs, and families to ensure availability of resources for school sites.

Must be self-directed and have the ability to follow directives from supervisors;
Must maintain confidentiality at all times;
Regular in-person attendance.
