About the Department

Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) is looking for dependable, self-directed staff who are committed to delivering the best customer service possible at Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center. The shift lead position provides the first point of customer contact with a focus on creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for our patrons, staff, and partners.
The Shift Lead is responsible for customer service, general clerical work, building, and patron security, and the overall supervision of the Center during the evening and weekend hours, often working in the facility unaccompanied by full time staff. Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience in office management principles, resolving work problems, and a basic understanding of applicable software and computer operations. THPRD uses Office 365 platforms including Word, Excel, and Teams, as well as patron registration software.
Current position needs:
- Thursday: 5:15 AM–10:30 AM
- Friday: 2:00 PM–9:45 PM
- Saturday: 7:45 AM–3:00 PM
- Monday: 4:15 PM–9:45 PM
Job Classification Status:
THPRD is hiring for multiple positions, hours may vary and are based on program need. Part-time benefits (PTB) eligible employees work an average of 20 hours per week but, less than 30 hours, on a year-round basis and are eligible to enroll in a benefits package. Position Duties
Job duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Independently open, close and lead the front desk staff
- Greet the public, creating a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior, providing information and assistance regarding schedules, program descriptions and other general district information over the phone and in person
- Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate personnel and take accurate messages
- Assist the public with program enrollment by; signing participants up for programs, record retention, receipting money, and performing related registration procedures
- Assist with the daily cleaning and sanitization of work and public spaces, equipment and program supplies to maintain the health and safety of all participants and staff
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and ability to perform the duties as outlined is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as follows:
- One-year general clerical experience, including public contact, and exposure to recreational programming
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
